Let it Ride

I had requested from Stampin Up, several times,  to please make some horse stamps so I was really happy to see the set, Let It Ride, when it appeared in the new Occasions catalog. I had enjoyed designing this card because usually I'm a "CASE'r" (copy and share everything) but this one was fun to come up with my own idea. Here's the details for this card.

  • The base is  Early Espresso card stock cut at 8.5" x 5.5"
  • The first layer of Soft Suede is cut at 5 1/4" x 4" and then I used the Crackle Paint stamp set and inked it up in Early Espresso.
  • The next layer of  Early Espresso is cut at 3" x 3"
  • The 2 5/8" x 2 5/8" piece of Sahara Sand has rounded corners.
  • The horse is colored in with Crumb Cake Stampin Blends and I outlined the mane with Basic Black.
  • The words are mounted on the smallest rectangle stitched dies.  This piece sits on top of a die cut from the Stitched Labels die set in Early Espresso.
  • The last step I did was to take a piece of linen thread and wrap it like a lariat rope.

Lasting Lily

This stamp set is so beautiful. The impression it gives is just amazing. It's what they call the Distinctive look. This picture doesn't even do it justice. This stamp can be yours for FREE with a $100 order from the Sale A Bration catalog. In fact, you can't even buy it. It is one of the free stamps you can choose. Here's the details on how I made this card.

  • Poppy Parade card base is 5.5" x 8.5" and scored at 4 1/4"
  • I stamped the lily on a piece of shimmer white card stock that is 2" x 4.5". The stamp pads I used for that were Poppy Parade and Old Olive.
  • The Old Olive cardstock is 2 1/4" x 4 3/4"
  • I cut the doily in half and glued it under the Old Olive piece.
  • The stitched oval is the smallest one
  • I used Pear Pizzaz shimmer ribbon and wrapped it around the Old Olive card stock.

Birthday Statements

Hello Everyone from the snowy land of Iowa. Today is a good day to catch up on some blogging. This is what I woke up to this morning. Really can't complain. This is our first big snow.

I'll show you a few cards I've been working on lately. I'm having so much fun with the Stampin' Blends.

This one is done with the older style Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay.

Here is another using Lovely Lipstick, Coastal Cabana, Granny Apple Green and Mango Melody.

I really liked these striking colors together, Mango Melon and Granny Apple Green.

For this card, I used Balmy Blue, Highland Heather and threw in a dash of Granny Apple Green. These cards just go to show what you can do with just one stamp set and changing the colors and folders that you choose. They all look so different.

Gingham Gala

I Love this new Designer Series Paper called Gingham Gala. I've had so much fun designing these cards using the new DSP, along with Hello Cupcake stamp set and the new ribbons from the Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack. You can only get the ribbon and stamp set if you purchase $50 worth of product and choose these items from the Sale A Bration catalog. It would actually take$100 purchase if you wanted both products. Sale A Bration is an annual event with Stampin Up that happens once a year. These products are available from January 3rd to March 31st, 2019.

The Gingham paper comes in Grapefruit Grove, Highland Heather, Lemon Lime Twist, Balmy Blue and Daffodil Delight. I have designed some cards in those colors. Here are the details:

  • Base is 5.5" x 8.5" and scored at 4 1/4". I used thick white cardstock for this.
  • The gingham is cut at 5.5" x 2".
  • The square that I mounted the cupcake on is the 2nd largest in the Stitched Shapes Framelits and the rectangle is from the new Rectangle Stitched Framelits. It's the smallest one.
  • I stamped the cupcake holder in Crumb Cake and the muffin top in Soft Suede. I fussy cut those out and taped them to the square. The cake tops were stamped in the matching colors of the gingham paper and were also fussy cut.  I mounted the cupcake top on a dimensional an tied a ribbon and made a bow around the card.
