Stampin Up On Stage Las Vegas

Hi Stampers,

Two of my sisters and I just returned from Las Vegas after attending Stampin Up's OnStage event. We had such a great time and so many changes with Stampin Up. So many beautiful new items coming out in the new catalog June 1st. We got to play with some of the new products!  I can now post the picture of the new catalog. Just let me say, it is heavenly!!

Today's post will be long but so many changes as I said.

THE COLORS ARE EVOLVING!

The spice of life is variety, and that’s especially true in the world of color. Stampin’ Up! makes a point to keep an eye on color trends across different markets and industries. When Stampin Up  sees changes happening, they review their color spectrum to ensure that we remain consistently on top of the trends. This brings us to the 2018 Color Revamp!
In order to keep bringing you the most current and on trend colors, Stampin Up decided it was time to give our color collections a makeover.

THE DETAILS

There are still four color collections, each with ten colors. There is also a new color group called Basics.
In order to keep their color collections to exclusive Stampin’ Up! colors, Stampin Up moved Basic Black, Very Vanilla, and Whisper White out of the Neutrals collection. They have also moved a few colors into the Neutrals collection, making it more exciting and colorful!
Some additional colors have changed collections as well—you’ll notice this as you look through the new collections below. You can refer to the old and new color charts in the 2018-2019 catalog. These changes were based on needing to maintain color balance in our updated collections. For example, Poppy Parade is now the brightest red so it is part of the Brights collection.

IN COLORS

There are no changes to the In Color program. Every two years Stampin Up will continue to introduce five new In Colors that will be available for the ensuing two years. They  also have previous In Colors that are returning and joining our core colors:
  • Mossy Meadow
  • Poppy Parade
  • Flirty Flamingo
  • Coastal Cabana
  • Mint Macaron
  • Blackberry Bliss

Lanee's 13th Birthday

My granddaughter, Lanee, turns 13 this Saturday so I wanted to make her a special card for turning 13 years old. How can she be a teenager already? I cased this from Esther Howard and changed it up just a bit. Here are the details:
  • Base is Melon Mambo cut at 8.5" x 5.5" and scored at 4 1/4"
  • Thick whisper white cardstock is cut at 5 3/8"x 4 1/8"
  • I used Basic Black Archival ink and randomly stamped the white card stock with Touches of Texture and Gorgeous Grunge. Then I used those same stamps and inked up with Versa Mark and used silver embossing powder to get the shiny effect. I stamped the shoes, headphone and guitar in Black Archival, let dry and then used some of my older Stampin Blends to color in the pieces. You can also use your Aqua painter and stamp pads as well. I fussy cut these pieces out with the paper snips. I sponged  the 13 and the label die with Black Archival.
  • I used glue and sprinkled some glitter on the toes of the shoes and the circles of the headphone. The Awesome words are stamped in Versamark. Sprinkle silver embossing on top and heat set. I also took one of the Gorgeous Grunge stamps, inked in Versamark and stamped on the 13, followed by silver embossing powder and heat set. I mounted everything with dimensionals. For the shoe laces I punched small holes where the eyelets would go and ran some white twine through the holes.
I had fun decorating Lanee's gift bag as well. I wrapped up a lot of small gifts and put them in a bucket and tied it all together with clear wrap and string. I know she is going to love this.

Sweet Soiree 80th Birthday Card

A friend wanted me to make her Mom an 80th Birthday card so this is what I designed. Very fast and easy.
  • Basic card stock in Whisper White  is cut at 8 1/2" x 5 1/2". Scored at 4 1/4"
  • Second layer of Marina Mist is cut at 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
  • Sweet Soiree Specialty DSP is cut at 5 1/4" x 4"
  • The white oval is cut from the largest oval in the Stitched Framed Framelits
  • The 80 is cut with with the Large Numbers Framelits in silver foil
  • I stamped the For You in Berry Burst
  • I cut a piece of silver foil that is 1/2" wide by 4" long to put under the Marina Mist scalloped ribbon
  • The embellishments are from the Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit
The second card is very similar to the first card except I used the 80 from the embellishment kit.
