Sweet Birthday Girl

I cased this card from Kim Williams but did change a few of the colors. One of my granddaughter's celebrated her 4th Birthday this past week and I loved this card. A lot of work but I'm sure she will love it when we celebrate her birthday towards the end of this month.

The word "Sweet" was cut from the Blushing Bride glimmer paper once and 2 times from Flirty Flamingo. I mounted them together with the fine tip glue pen to have a more raised effect. The words "birthday" and "girl" are embossed with silver embossing powder.

Spinner Cards

I can see how these Spinner cards or Slidder cards can be addicting. They are so much fun. I created this one for my 15 year old grandson who is a baseball lover. The paper wasn't a Stampin Up product. I think it's hard to come up with ideas for a teenage boy, but I really did like this idea. I used a 1 3/4" punch to cut out the baseball that is attached to the washers and then I just used my red stamp n write pen to etch in the stitching on the baseball. In the card below, I used a 1 1/2" punch for the baseball.

Sweet Cupcakes

I've been having so much fun with this stamp set and die called Sweet Cupcake. So many different colors you can use to brighten anyone's day. I used a variety of products on this card. Three different embossing folders were used. I combined the colors of Cucumber Crush and Daffodil Delight.

Flower Patch

I was out taking pictures of my flowers that I have in pots around my deck and boy is it hot out!! I thought I'd share a few of my potted flowers I have. Which prompted me to make the card below.

Pink Geranium

Red Geranium

Yellow Gerbera Daisy

Petunias

Gerbera Daisy

New Guina Impatiens

Hibiscus

Do you have a stamp set and framelits that you just forget you have? I feel like I've hardly used this set and it really is a beauty.

  • For the base I chose Watermelon Wonder cut at 4 1/4 " x 11" and scored at 5.5"
  • The whisper white layer which I used the Detailed Floral Thinlits on top is cut at 5 1/4" x 4"
  • The watercolor paper is cut at 5 1/4" x 4" and then I used my Aqua Painter and watercolored in a diagonal motion with Night of Navy and then Watermelon Wonder.
  • The flower was stamped in Night of Navy and the leaves were stamped in Cucumber Crush and then used the matching framelits to cut them out. The leaves were then embossed in the Softly Fallen emobssimg folder.
  • I used the Rose Garden Thinlits to mount the words.

Country Livin'

I was so excited to see Stampin Up come up with some country looking stamps so I couldn't wait for this set to arrive called Country Livin. This truck reminds me of one that my Uncle Ralph had on our farm for years where I grew up in South Dakota. It was like a landmark!!  So many possibilities with this set. I painted the old truck on shimmery white paper with our retired blendabilites but you could also use the Stampin Write markers. Then I used the old Layered Ovals to mount it on Cherry Cobbler cardstock which was also cut with the Oval. I added a bit of Wink of Stella clear to the tires, grill and the boots.

Happy 4th of July

Happy Fourth of July everyone!!

I spent my morning with all my grandkids at the Norwalk annual 4th of July parade. I think it gets bigger every year and the kids sure do enjoy it. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of Logan. Hope you all had a great 4th of July.

Detailed Floral Thinlits

STUNNING!!

That about sums it up for this thinlit die. I have had so much fun these past few days making some of these cards after I cased it from Wendy Krause. It was fun to see them in all different colors. Wouldn't it be a great idea if you knew the Bride and Groom's wedding colors and you could make a card to match?

Peekaboo Peach and Flirty Flamingo

Navy Blue and Whisper White

Cucumber Crush and Whisper White

Here are the details:
Card base is cut at 8 1/4" x 5 9/16". Score at 4 1/8"
Detailed thinlit pieces are cut at 4 1/8" x 3 3/4" and 4 1/8"x 3". Then you will score those 2 pieces at the 4 1/8" side at 1/2"

Inner piece
5 1/2" x 4 1/8"

Inside card
5 1/4" x 4"

After you run the 2 detailed pieces through the Big Shot, you will glue that 1/2" seam to the back of the inner part. So your inner part fits right on top of that 1/2" score line. Then glue the whole piece to your card base.
