On October 13-14th, my 3 sisters and I hosted the 1st Annual Rushmore Stampin Roundup in Rapid City, South Dakota. We had our work cut out for us for almost a year when we began planning it. Don't you love our logo? It was designed by our niece, and Peg's daughter, Kami Ireland. It was a HUGE undertaking with all of us living in a different state but I think we can say it was a huge success. We had a little over 50 ladies come to our event, from North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, Colorado and Texas. We couldn't get in on Thursday night to set up our tables until 10:00 PM so we were there until 2 AM, completely exhausted as well, because 3 of us had driven up that day from quite a distance......but we were back to the conference center by 8 AM welcoming our first guests.
From left, Rhonda Egle, from Pinedale, Wyoming, Peggy Ireland, from Box Elder, South Dakota, Sandy Cox from Loveland, Colorado, and that's me on the right from Cumming, Iowa.
On Friday morning, we started out with classes that each one of us taught. Rhonda started the morning off with her class on wood crates and matching cards.
These were some of Peg's beautiful embossing cards that she taught in her class.
Sandy taught the Ribbon of Hope class using the large letter thinlits and the Support Ribbon Framelits.
These are the cards that I used to teach some water coloring with blender pens, reinkers and colored pencils.
Our prizes they could choose from Bingo
We then broke for a short supper period and then played Bingo. What a hoot! These ladies had so much fun and so did we. When they entered the room, we had the tables set up with a swag bag filled with card stock to make 2 cards and a stamp set, Ribbon of Courage. So appropriate for the month of October. We had bought several prizes for Bingo and we were expecting many duplicates of winners. We even played 13 games of regular Bingo and 1 game of Black Out. We did have 3 winners for Black Out. We had so many extra prizes that we decided to have an auction...talk about fun! That pretty much wrapped up our first fun day.
