Large Number Framelits

Hello Everyone,
I was getting a little behind in getting cards out to some important people so finally got caught up on these Anniversary cards. Did you know for the 40th Anniversary the symbol is Ruby? I had forgotten that until I looked it up. So I went with the closest colors I had which were the reds. Here are the details:

  • Whisper White Base is cut at 8.5" x 5.5" and scored at 4.25"
  • First layer is Red foil (discontinued) cut at 5 1/4" x 4"
  • Second layer is whisper white cut at 5" x 3 3/4" and embossed with Petal Burst embossing folder
  • Third layer is Red foil cut at 3 3/4" x 2 3/4"
  • Fourth layer is Whisper White cut at 3.5" x 2 1/2"
  • Numbers are cut from Red Glimmer Paper
With the 50th Birthday card, I used the same dimensions but used gold foil and gold glimmer paper along with the Seaside embossing folder.

Did you know you could take a gold sharpie and color Stampin Up's pearls, enamels and rhinestones? Try it sometime in all the beautiful colors of the Sharpie pens.

90th Birthday card

Good Morning Everyone,

I just made a 90th Birthday card for a very special lady that I have known most of my life. I hope she enjoys the card as much as I enjoyed making it for her. And I might add, it was pretty easy to put together. Here's the details:

  • Base is cut at 8.5" x 5.5" and scored at 4 1/4" on the 8.5" side out of Night of Navy
  • First layer is 5 1/4" x 4" cut from the Floral Boutique DSP
  • Numbered piece cut from Night of Navy is 2.5" x 4"
The lettering is done in Versamark with Silver embossing powder.

Copper Embossed Maple Leaf

I don't know what it is about taking pictures with this beautiful copper embossing powder. But it never does a card the justice it deserves. It's such a striking product and to see it up close is absolutely stunning.  For this card, I took a base in Delightful Dijon cut at 8.5" x 5.5" and scored it at 4 1/4". Then I ran the front half through the Big Shot using the Petal Burst embossing folder. The second layer cut at 4" x 3.5" in Rich Razzleberry is run through the Big Shot with the Woodgrain embossing folder. The third layer is cut at 3" x 3" in Old Olive and I also used the Petal Burst embossing folder. The fourth layer is a piece of watercolor paper cut at 3" x 3". I used Versamark to stamp the big maple leaf on the paper and then took the copper embossing powder and used my heat tool to set it. After it was completely dry, I took my Old Olive stamping pad and with a sponge dauber, I weaved the color in and out of the leaf. The last step was using Rich Razzleberry stamp pad and ink refill to apply color to the background of the leaf. I used a heavier line around the outline of the leaf. I used my Aqua painter to complete this step.

Vintage Leaves

The colors are finally making their appearance here in central Iowa this past week. A little late this year but none the less, still pretty. So I was in the mood for some leaf cards. For this card, I stamped the leaves in Versa Mark and covered them with gold embossing powder. Then I wet the watercolor paper with my Aqua painter and took Rich Razzleberry and just let it flow lightly around the leaves and watched it take it's shape. For the remainder of the watercolor paper I used Old Olive.
